Instructional program begins at 2:00 PM
The Learn to Curl Program is specifically designed for new curlers and those previous curlers who may not have played recently and are looking to retrieve their skills. It will help you feel comfortable and confident on the ice.
The program runs for 8 weeks from late October through December. It is held on Sundays from 2:00 to 4:00 and can accommodate up to 50 participants. It caters to both hack and stick curlers. NOTE: there will be no classes on October 26th nor November 2nd due to events being held at the club.
Learn to Curl participants with previous curling experience are encouraged to wait until the completion of the course to join a recreational league or until recommended by the course coordinator. Participants that are new to curling are required to wait until the completion of the program before joining our leagues.
In Learn to Curl you will learn about curling terminology, essential equipment, rock delivery and sweeping techniques, how the game is played and scored, as well as etiquette on and off the ice. While there is some classroom instruction, most of the teaching takes place in small groups on the ice.
